Decode your VIN to check EU spec status and ISA compliance likelihood
Enter your 17-character VIN to see manufacturer, country, model year when it can be decoded, and whether the vehicle is likely affected by EU ISA rules. We accept well-formed VINs worldwide; ISO year letters and check digits are required only in North America.
How we validate VINs
- Worldwide: exactly 17 characters and the VIN charset (no I, O, or Q).
- North America (VIN starts with 1–5): ISO 3779 check digit and ISO year letter are also required.
- Everywhere else: format is enough. Year 0/U/Z, unknown WMI, and non-ISO check digits show a warning and do not block decoding.
Decode VIN

This decoder reads VIN structure. Manufacturer lookup uses common WMI codes and may miss rare plants. Model year is omitted when position 10 is not an ISO year letter (common outside North America). For official vehicle data, ask the manufacturer or dealer.
